Detention centers are dangerous places for anyone, especially those who are medically vulnerable. The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the risk for everyone detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
If you have a loved one who is detained by ICE, you can help them apply for release on parole. View and download our COVID-19 Parole Information Guide for Sponsors to learn more about how to support your detained loved one.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, in partnership with Innovation Law Lab and Freedom for Immigrants, has also created the COVID-19 Parole Information Guide for Detained Individuals that can be sent directly to detained individuals so that they may submit parole requests on their own without an attorney. We invite organizations, community supporters, and others who are supporting detained individuals to send this packet directly to detained individuals.

A federal district court granted a nationwide preliminary injunction requiring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to take a number of important steps to protect medically susceptible people in its custody from COVID-19. The order requires ICE to conduct custody re-determinations for everyone in ICE detention who is at heightened risk of COVID-19. For more information, visit our Fraihat v. ICE Community Resources page.
